National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference welcomes 26th U.S. chapter

Mar. 29, 2021
SACRAMENTO — In a meeting Monday, Mar. 29, the National Hispanic Christian Leadership
Conference confirmed the Evangelical Association of Hispanic Ministers as an official NHCLC
chapter in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia Metropolitan (DMV) area, making the
DMV the 26th NHCLC chapter in the U.S.
The Evangelical Association of Hispanic Ministers (AEMH) is the oldest clergy association in the
DMV. The multicultural alliance of ministers operates as the bridge between the Church of
Jesus Christ and the surrounding cities.
“The new collaboration forged by the partnership created with AEMH that has served the
metro D.C. for over three decades will indeed amplify the voice of the Hispanic Evangelical
church and community like never before in a resounding way,” said Rev. Abraham Hernandez,
Northeast Vice President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. “This is
indeed a historic day.”
Rev. Joel Galan, President of AEMH, will serve as NHCLC DMV Board President and Salomon
Paredes will fill the role of NHCLC DMV Chapter Executive Director.
“The new partnership with the NHCLC will allow us to effectively represent the body of Christ in
the social affairs impacting our region,” said Joel Galan, President of AEMH. “The NHCLC has
been a champion in these efforts, and with them, we will more forcefully achieve the work in a
more accurate and intentional manner.”
