Rev. Samuel Rodriguez: ‘America’s immigration problems are easily solved if our elected representatives will simply, and finally, do their jobs.’

SACRAMENTO — Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), issues the following statement applauding the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on immigration:
“In a time where there is hopeless partisan debate surrounding our broken immigration system, our esteemed Supreme Court has sent a unanimous message that America’s humanitarian instinct must always operate within the rule of law. I affirm the Supreme Court’s principle, and for the ten thousandth time, I call on Democrats and Republicans in Congress to come together once and for all to establish comprehensive reforms that address border security, injustices against Dreamers and all other facets of the system that have required immediate attention for over a generation, such that neither political party’s legitimate concerns are off the table.
